Detailed description of goods
Design Store is a business operating in the e-commerce industry that sells a selection of South African designed and made products for your home. Most of our products are made-to-order and often assembled by hand. The product selection is curated and will change from time-to-time.
All of the products listed on Design Store offer free courier delivery across South Africa to all the cities and major towns. Note that some outlying areas might incur additional costs.
Should you buy various products from different designers through one order, expect for your goods to arrive at different dates or times as separate courier parcels.
Products are shipped via a reputable courier company during office hours to your work or home address. Once your parcel has been collected by the courier company a tracking number will be made available and delivery can be expected within 1-5 working days from date of collection [depending on where you live]. Delivery will only be during office hours [09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday] and not during weekends or public holidays.
We do not make a margin on our deliveries as this is an outsourced function; more often than not, we actually substitute costs of getting your order delivered to you.

The product offering on this website is available to South African as well as international customers even though all products listed are quoted in Rand value only. Return and Refunds policy
The provision of goods and services by Design Store is subject to availability. In cases of unavailability, Design Store will refund the customer in full within 14 days.
Please check your items thoroughly as soon as you receive them. Products that were damaged during shipping or incorrectly supplied [e.g. wrong size, colour etc.] can qualify for a replacement product or repair [where possible]. In such an instance, Design Store will exchange the product on condition that (i) the product is returned in its original condition and (ii) the customer returns the product within two days of receipt and confirms by sending an e-mail to Design Store. On receipt and acceptance of returned product Design Store will make all reasonable effort to exchange said product.
Design Store will arrange the courier collection and cover the shipping fees for the damaged or incorrectly supplied items you wish to exchange.
For customers that cancel orders for any other reason or returns undamaged goods, the costs to return the unwanted product rests with the customer. Design Store will arrange the courier collection from the customer’s premises. Kindly note that cancellation of orders by the client after delivery will attract a 10% administration fee on top of the costs to return the product via courier.
The manufacturing of most of the furniture items are outsourced to third parties and are made-to-order. Once production has commenced for these orders, then cancelling your order might not always be possible. Where cancellation is possible after production has commenced, a 10% cancellation fee might be charged by the factory. Best is to contact us first to inquire about the cancellation policy for the individual product that you're interested in.
All refunds will be processed at month-end.
Product lead time
All of the products listed on the website have a specific lead-time linked to the manufacturing of the actual product. Product lead time means that the product can take anything from 1 day to 6 weeks to manufacture or assemble. This lead time is unique to each product and has nothing to do with the associated shipping time. Please allow for shipping time of 1 to 5 working days once dispatched.

Payment options accepted
Payment may be made securely a) using your Visa or MasterCard through our secure payment gateway PayGate (Pty) Ltd, or b) or by bank transfer into the Design Store bank account, the details of which will be provided during checkout where bank transfer (EFT) has been selected by the customer as payment option.
Credit card acquiring and security
Credit card transactions will be acquired for Design Store via PayGate who are the approved payment gateway for Design Store. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no credit card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.
Design Store shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users. For the purpose of this clause, "personal information" shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA).
We don't store credit cards, debit cards or any other sensitive information. Customer details will be stored by Design Store separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayGate’s secure site. Only the necessary information, that is the delivery address and contact phone number, will be made known to the courier company delivering your purchase.
We promise to not sell or make known any of your information to third parties (other than the courier company).
We cannot be held responsible for security breaches occurring on your electronic device (personal computer or other electronic device used to browse the Website), which may result due to the lack of adequate virus protection software installed on your side.
Merchant outlet country and transaction currency
The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).
Country of domicile
This site is hosted, controlled and operated from South Africa and therefore governed by South African law.
Design Store takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction including sale of goods sold on this website, customer service and support, dispute resolution and delivery of goods.
Changes to agreement
Design Store may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.
